Southampton Residential Trip

BoatingWe set off from school on the 12th of June 2006, our destination “The Queen Elizabeth 11 ” activity centre in Burseldon, Hampshire. We arrived on Monday afternoon, allocated our cabins and beds for the week. Tuesday began with a hearty breakfast followed by team building activities, 11 pupils working closely together to solve problems, the teamwork and cooperation shown by all was truly outstanding. Tuesday afternoon was spent on the river Hamble, each group took turns at canoeing and driving a speed boat, well done to Lauren Proctor for being so brave. Wednesday was spent crawling, climbing, jumping, wading and generally having great fun on the stream walk. Chris Pocock lead the way for the entire group to follow. Thursday involved archery, wall climbing and the zip wire. Well done to Grant McCarthy for beating Howie so convincingly at archery, a special mention to Amy Barthorpe and Angelique who showed no fear in their ability to conquer the indoor climbing wall. Friday and home time with both pupils and staff exhausted, a sign of a fantastic week away. A big thank you to all the staff involved.

Diary of Lisa Legg – R6

Monday – I made sure I had everything packed for school journey. I got to school and we traveled by minibus to Southampton. It took a long time to get there and I fell asleep on the way. When we got there we had a look around to see where everything was. I shared with Lauren. I unpacked my case. The weather was nice.

Tuesday – On Tuesday we went on a row boat. We went on a big boat and I drove the boat using a big wheel. I enjoyed it. I had lunch.

Wednesday – On Wednesday we went for a walk. We did rock climbing.

Thursday – On Thursday we did archery. We had a barbeque. We went to the shops to buy gifts. I played football with Lauren and Amy. We had a party. We had a water fight.

Friday – On Friday we had to pack our suitcases. We had something to eat and we had to drive back to school. I enjoyed the school journey.
