Film making by Charlton students
These two films 'Killer File' and 'Book Life' were created by students who attended a film club one morning a week for a forty-five minute session. It is very impressive that the students worked on these films for more than two terms. The students came up with the initial ideas for the films and then develop these into short stories for the two minute films. The students came up with very grand ideas to begin with and working out how we would make characters come out of books and files fly became one of our first tasks. The students spent quite some time looking at film shots and techniques and playing around with some of their ideas. The next step was to develop storyboards and plan filming. You can see some examples on this page. In between filming the students started to load their film and began editing using imovie on the Mac’s. This really gave the students the insight into how long it takes to make a film. The students have now become experts on using the software and are looking forward to teaching other students the skills they have gained
