BECTa Creativity in Digital Media Awards 2006

An outstanding achievement by

Shahira Mohammed

who was the winner of the digital video category 12-16 years.

Shahira wrote, directed and edited a short and very powerful film on bullying. She chose to work with a group of drama students from Plumstead Manor School to act out her poem and then spent hours working on the editing of the final film which went on to win this mainstream national competition. All the girls involved in the film enjoyed a trip to Bradford to the National Film Museum for a very enjoyable awards ceremony. Shahira has since been asked to show and talk about her film in local schools and she has featured on a BBC teachers programme. Shahira has now moved on to college and we wish her all the best as she continues her media studies.
