Charlton Parent Guarantee Action Plan
In accordance with the DCSF 21st Century Schools White Paper, Charlton School will continue to ensure that it has high aspirations for every student and that they are given the opportunity to do the best they possibly can to succeed in school and in adult life. The school intends to work with mothers, fathers and carers as full partners in their child’s learning and the wider environment.
For this to happen, Charlton School will ensure that:
- every parent/carer will have opportunities, information and support to exercise choice with and on behalf of their child;
- every parent/carer will have a Home School Agreement outlining their rights and responsibilities for their child’s schooling;
- every parent/carer will have the opportunity, information and support they need to be involved and engaged in their child’s learning and development; and
- every parent/carer will have access to extended services including advice on parenting
Greengates Charity Funding
"I am contacting you on behalf of Greengates, which is a local grant-making charity, specialising in grants to individuals with learning disabilities (adults and children) and / or their families in need.
We are contacting local organisations who could help us identify individuals and families in the Borough of Greenwich who may need our help in the future.
We have deliberately kept our brief very wide and have so far given grants for specialist equipment, furniture and white goods, training course, holidays etc. Our grants are one-off payments of a maximum £500; we cannot help with items which are the responsibility of statutory organisations such as the local authority or NHS.
Grant applications must be sponsored by a professional working with the family, such as Social Worker / Care Manager / Family Advisor / Teacher / Community Nurse / General Practitioner / Manager of a residential home / supported living service / Advocate.
Please contact me if you think there is any way we could co-operate to identify individuals or families who may need our help. To date we have worked with Greenwich Mencap, but now feel we need to contact other organisations in order to reach more individuals and families. Greengates no longer maintains an office; I work from home for the charity."
