Roger Ballaster: Charlton School's Head of Governors A Slimmer, Fitter School

We have just completed an exercise which will result in a more efficient and effective school.
A new senior management team has been put in place and the previous more complicated management is being phased out.
Equally, a slimmer more flexible classroom organisation has been introduced, with the co-operation of teachers and LSAs.
We have plans to improve the administration area which will happen early next term.
Finally, the Governing Body now has a much higher representation of parent governors, and is realigning its responsibilities in line with the new school structure.
All this has happened smoothly thanks to the goodwill and co-operation of everyone-it is, and always has been a great comfort to have a happy atmosphere throughout the school: long may it continue!
As Chair of Governors, I look forward to a period of stability during which the achievements of the students will continue to justify the efforts they and their teachers, parents/carers and helpers make
